Insecurity comes in all shapes and sizes. It comes from the inside and it comes from the out. Sometimes you can see it, sometimes you can’t. What I want from every session is to show her that she IS beautiful. I don’t just want her to look beautiful, I want her to feel beautiful.

Q: Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If yes, how did your shoot with Kimberly compare to your prior experience?
A: Nope! First time for this!
Q: What was your own personal reason for wanting to have a boudoir session? Was your session a gift for anyone special, or just for yourself?
A: A friend did one for her husband’s 40th birthday a few years ago and I thought it was a great idea! I also saw her photos and they were stunning. Very simple at a hotel with great light and shot in B/W. At that time I wasn’t feeling very confident in my body (my friend is in great shape) and put it off until I “looked better”. Well, frankly it never was going to happen with my crappy opinion of myself. My husband never knew about me wanting to do this. He always tells me I’m beautiful and sexy but I didn’t really believe it or see it in myself. #lowselfesteem
Q: Why did you choose Kimberly Ann Photography for your boudoir experience?
A: I met Kim at my Crossfit Gym and heard from most of the other women how great of an experience it was. I also was on her FB page and saw the before/after shots and read the comments from everyone and was sold. Kim is an amazing photographer and very positive about the whole experience.
Q: How did your session with Kimberly Ann Photography differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?
A: I was so nervous. I had no idea what to expect. I read all the instructions she emailed me and brought a bunch of lingerie outfits and shoes. I wanted to do this as a special gift for my husband so I also grabbed his tuxedo shirt and tie. I think that look is very sexy, to incorporate something of his. Kim did a great job weaving that into a couple sets so I had options for the photos.
Q: What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
A: Feeling pretty. They (the makeup person and Kim) made me feel amazing and very special. We also laughed a ton. Kim is great. You will not regret booking a session with her.
Q: Other than beautiful photos, of course, what else did you take away from your boudoir experience? What type of impact did it have on you?
A: Confidence! Knowledge of how to pose, a happy husband who said I look like a model. That was the best. It made me feel so happy that he loved the photos. This quote below from the movie, “We Bought a Zoo” sums up this decision to do the photoshoot.
“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery, and I promise you something great will come of it.”
